Know Your Neighbor ~ February 2013

The Walker Family

Mary Jane grew up in Sunset, Utah as the youngest of five children.  She graduated from Clearfield High School and then Stevens Henager College.  She worked at Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators for 25 years.  She now stays at home and enjoys spending more time with her family.  Mary Jane loves being a grandma and taking care of their granddaughter, Hazel, two days a week.  When she finds the time, she likes to sew, read and do crafts.

Kent grew up in Rose Park, Utah as the youngest of four children.  He graduated from West High School where he played on the football team.  He works at the Kennecott Power Plant.  He loves being a grandpa and spoils Hazel whenever possible. When time allows, he enjoys watching sports, golfing and spending time with his family.

Mary Jane and Kent met while attending the same singles ward in Salt Lake and they were married 10 months later.  They celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary last November.

Heather, their oldest daughter, is married to Andrew Seely (son of Stan and Nancy). They live in Bountiful with their daughter, Hazel who is 22 months old.

Nikki is living at home and attends the Young Single Adult ward.  In April she will graduate from Weber State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration Services.  She works at Intermountain Medical Center in the Labor and Delivery department.

Hannah is also living at home and attending the Young Single Adult ward.  She works at Primary Children's Medical Center in the Neuroscience Trauma department.  She is planning to return to school this fall where she will pursue a degree in genetics.

As a family, the Walkers like to play games, go to movies, go miniature golfing and just spend time together.  They are looking forward to their annual trip to a family cabin near Oakley, Utah this summer as well as a vacation that is still in the planning stages.

We are glad to have the Walker family in our neighborhood!
