Powerful Promises of the Book of Mormon

Modest Leaders Have Power
Mosiah 18:26

Taught by Sue G.

The modest, unselfish leader has the power to inspire and lift. The good leaders don't always please mankind, in fact, the Lord doesn't always place his servants where they will be noticed. But of course, we know where they are, they are in his hands. We sense it, but we may not always see it. He loves the modest but useful servant.
The Book of Mormon is full of modest leaders who inspire and lead others to do good, through example and by preaching and teaching the word of the Lord.
The modest servant lies down tired at the end of a day, knowing that the day was spent doing just what God intended. How could we feel badly about a day that ended like that. King Benjamin lay down in peace each evening for thousands of days knowing that he had done what the Lord wanted him to do and then did so at the end of his life with a clear conscience.
 Read Mosiah 2:15
We should all strive to be humble, modest, powerful leaders for the Lord, Jesus Christ.

2 With a mixer, beat together the butter and the sugar until they are smoothly blended. Add the eggs to the butter and sugar mixture one at a time, beating well after each addition. With a spoon, stir in the vanilla, orange peel, and zucchini.
3 Alternately stir the dry ingredients and the milk into the zucchini mixture, including the nuts with the last addition.
4 Pour the batter into a greased and flour-dusted 10-inch tube pan or bundt pan. Bake in the oven for about 50 minutes (test at 45 minutes!) or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan 15 minutes; turn out on wire rack to cool thoroughly.
5 Drizzle glaze over cake.
Glaze: Mix together 2 cups powdered sugar, 3 Tablespoons milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until smooth.
Cut in thin slices to serve. Makes 10-12 servings.
Since it has Zucchini in it- it's okay to eat
1, 2 or 3 pieces, it's 1/2 vegetable right?!
{well at least you can tell yourself that- wink,wink}
Give it a try- I think you'll like it. You might even fool a little non- veggie eater in your house with these cakes.
Enjoy!

Mark and Trish are right at home here in Centerville.  Trish grew up here and Mark grew up in Bountiful.  Both went to Viewmont High School... Go Vikings!  Both of their extend families live in the area too.  They like spending time with them and like living close to them.
