Alma 42

Alma continues to teach his son Corianton, focusing now on the fall and the Atonement.  In one of the best treatises on justice and mercy, Alma testifies that redemption comes through Christ to those who repent alma teaches that mercy is given to these who repent, but those who do not repent are subject to God's justice.  He teaches that repentance and mercy come through the Atonement, and that only the truth penitent are saved Alma counsels Corianton to repent and resume his missionary labors.


Hope is a precious doctrine that gives optimism to life.  It helps us carry on when we are down hearted and discouraged.  It helps us repent.  Hope is continually activated when we understand and appreciate any doctrine or principle of the gospel.  Our understanding then becomes a key to hope.  Alma 42:
