Scott & Camille Family

Camille S. recently got married to Scott J.  Scott is a Centerville native.  He grew up here and has lived here all of his life.  He attended and graduated from Viewmont High School.  Scott served a mission in New York.  He was in the New York, New York Mission.  Other than that he has lived in Centerville his whole life.

He has always liked being outdoors.  He likes to go hiking and camping.  In recent years he has started canyoneering to places like Zion’s National Park and Moab.  Canyoneering  is when a person hikes in and repels down the canyon walls.  Some trails or path trips are 19 hours long.  They wear wetsuits because they are in and out of water so often.  Scott has a group of friends who he goes with.  Sometimes he takes his boys with him.  Wow, sounds fun huh. Recently, he helped a friend down in Alpine with their Young Men’s Group.  He took them up Big Cottonwood Canyon and Scott trained and taught the boys how to do Canyoneering. 

Scott also likes to garden.  He enjoys yard work and vegetable gardening.  Camille says he likes to grow huge pumpkins and lots of different vegetables.  He spends a lot of time in the yard. 

Scott works for L3 Communications.  He is a Program Manager.  Camille says he explains his job this way.  He works with a group of engineers to make really expensive walkie talkies that communicate with a satellite in space, a plane or missile.  His group builds them. 

Scott’s parents and Camille’s parents live 2 doors down from each other.  Scott and Camille were friends in college.  They have a common group of friends.  When Camille moved back to Centerville they met again through mutual friends.  The group gets together about once a month.  They started catching up when they saw each other again and the rest is history.  

Scott has two boys, Carter and Tanner.  Holland is so happy to have two brothers now! Carter is 11 years old and in the 5^th grade.  He goes to school at Stewart Elementary.  Carter plays competition soccer.  He plays keeper.  He is so tall that he can really stop the balls.  He likes to read and his favorite book series are the Fabelhaven books.  He is his dad’s buddy.  He likes to be around his dad doing whatever he is doing.  He is a huge helper and will even start unloading the groceries without being asked!  Carter is a big tease and has a great sense of humor.

Tanner is 7 years old and in the 1^st grade.  He attends Reading Elementary with Holland.  He is a busy body and has tons of energy.  He is a sweet boy, loving and smart.  He loves to read and do puzzles.  Tanner really likes Legos, both boys like them.  He is a typical boy and likes to play with swords and use his imagination.  He and Holland are buddies and play really well together. 

As a family they like to do everything together.  Scott is a great cook and the whole family likes to cook together.  They make homemade ice-cream every weekend.  They have made some fun flavors like root beer, coconut, and raspberry.  If you need an ice cream recipe now you know who to ask.  They like to ride bikes and go on walks together.  Because their extended family is so close they spend a lot of time with them.  They also like to play games together.
